The first Oriental who set a world record was Kinue Hitomi (JAP) on Long Jump in 1928.
No Semites did ever set a world record in Athletics.
No Indo + Mal + Mad did ever set a world record in Athletics.

In doing this job I had to solve a problem: big chinese communities live in Malaysia and, especially, in Indonesia. For example, Java population is chinese for the most part. I don't have biographical information about any Indonesian or Malaysian record-holders, so I thought athlete's name could show their origin. For that I took out Loo Kum Zee, Malaysian High jump record holder, from my list. He display a chinese name.
Did I make any mistake? Write to me !

Important notices about Chinese athletes.
1) Records set at Chinese Games (Beijing 1993, Shanghai 1997, Guangzhou 2001, etc.) are not included because I think they are not reliable.
2) Only throws (and shot put) made after 1991 are considered.
3) I didn't take into account 67,50 by twenty year old Li Qiumei in Discus Throw (1994) because I thought it wasn't reliable.
